Because you work hard, shuttle the kids around town and tidy the house, you deserve a break. Deciding to treat yourself without breaking your budget reduces stress and gives you a better outlook on life. Here are nine ways to indulge in some affordable “me therapy.”

Drink something delicious. Do you prefer a sweet coffee drink with whipped cream, a cup of chamomile or a simple glass of wine? Regardless of which drink you choose, the key is to set aside time when you can focus on enjoying this drink, not just gulping it down between bites of overcooked meat. Focus on the flavors and texture. If you want more, rinse and repeat. This cheap treat won’t set you back too far when you go for seconds.

Watch something funny. Hilarious videos are as close as your computer. Find old episodes of sitcoms, even obscure ones, and take in some mindless entertainment.

Give yourself a pedicure. Dig out that scented lotion, light a candle and give your toes some love. Choose a cheap polish from the drug store in a color you normally wouldn’t wear. You’ll smile every time you look at those sparkling lime green toes.

Image via Wikimedia Commons

Read something that’s longer than a tweet. Find a comfy spot where you can browse a catalog, read a magazine article, or (gasp!) make some headway on the neglected novel that’s been on your nightstand.

Set up your ReachCard and indulge in retail therapy. Block off some time after the bedtime stories for quality online browsing with your ReachCard in hand. Then, securely pay for that cute sweater that’s priced 80 percent below retail. Knowing you’re paying with money from your paycheck rather than with credit will make your treat even sweeter.

Catch up with a friend. You know you’ve been meaning to call, so actually do it. Chatting with someone who can offer a sympathetic ear can be nearly as good as therapy and way cheaper.

Get moving. Whether you hit the gym or pavement, physical exertion gets the blood pumping and feel-good endorphins flowing. As an added benefit, your body burns calories after your workout. Feel the stress (and pounds) melt away.

Start a “therapy book.” You’ll need a notebook, tape and scissors. Go through old magazines, postcards and brochures and clip out words and pictures that capture how you want your life to be. The clippings can be whimsical, funny, inspiring or thought-provoking. Then, attach them to the pages of your notebook. This is a low hassle, low cost way to create a book that reflects your dreams, musings and aspirations.

Soak in the tub. When was the last time you did anything other than take a hasty shower? Sprinkle in some bath salts and indulge in the warmth of a bath. It’ll feel luxurious.

Treating yourself doesn’t have to cost a lot, so set aside time for some pampering every now and then. You deserve it!

In today’s fast-paced and hectic world, it seems that you need to do so much more in less time. Everyone handles this differently. Some are more productive than others in less time. Others are able to perform tasks quickly and easily, with positive results.

Is it possible to actually improve your personal productivity level? Yes! Whether you are simply searching for an online auto insurance quote, or completing a more complex task for your business, these five tips can help improve your productivity.

Get Used to a Routine

Image via Flickr

Get up early–on a regular basis. Stop hitting that snooze button, and get up when the alarm goes off. This will give you a bit more time in the day. Additionally, find a morning routine that suits you and doesn’t cause you to feel rushed or harried.

Record Your Thoughts and Ideas

Image via Flickr

Many people have experienced the loss of an idea or thought simply because they didn’t have something with which to record it. Start carrying a pad and pencil or a mini-recorder. Whenever an idea, thought, or task comes to mind, jot it down or record it. You may think of a solution to a problem that you’ve been working on, and you’ll have it recorded so you can work on it at a later time.

Use Lists

Image via Flickr

Many people try to do too much in one day. Create a daily list of two to three tasks that you can complete. If you actually completed those tasks early in the day, make another list with more tasks. Completed tasks and lists will make you feel very productive, and that is one of the main parts of productivity — feeling productive. You will also produce higher-quality work when you work in smaller quantities.

Exercise and Eat Healthy

Image via Flickr

You will feel more energized and productive if you have a regular exercise routine. Exercising gives you more energy, as does a healthy diet. You will be less likely to feel run down and tired with a good exercise routine, combined with a healthy diet.

Don’t Be Distracted

Image via Flickr

Eliminate any unnecessary internet browsing. This type of activity is a major factor in productivity loss. If you use the Internet as part of your job, stay on track with the task at hand. In addition, cut down your personal phone and text messaging activities. While you do want to maintain healthy relationships, spending too much time on these activities can lower your productivity.

Improving your productivity is not hard; you just need to focus on these few tips. After your productivity level goes up, you may find that you have more time for the leisurely things in your life.

iPads may not be able to do everything, but iPad users are learning that the powerful little machine is capable of much more than they ever imagined. People are using their iPads to do everything from cooking dinner to entertaining friends. Here are nine things the iPad can do that you may not have thought of.

               1. Grocery List. The iPad is easy to handle, so it’s perfect for taking with you to the grocery store when you do your shopping. It can store your recipes for your favorite dishes and keep track of your electronic coupons to help you save money on the grocery bill.

               2. GPS. Your iPad can be taken in the car to help you get where you’re going. The GPS provides directions and even helps you find restaurants and gas stations along the way.

               3. Book Reader. You can turn your iPad into an electronic reader that will let you scroll through the new best seller or your favorite newspaper or magazine. It’s more convenient to use your iPad than having to carry a separate unit just for reading like a Nook or Kindle.

               4. Telephone. Your iPad can function just like the iPhone if you download certain apps like Skype, so you can use this gadget for almost every purpose!

               5. Photo Frame. The gorgeous digital display makes the iPad perfect for displaying photos. Set it out on a bookshelf during a party and use it like a digital frame to show your favorite photos. It may be the most expensive picture frame you have ever bought, but great deals are available if you buy your iPad on eBay.

              6. Jukebox. Another great use for your iPad is to play music at a party. You can program the list of songs you want, or play DJ and pick songs that make people want to get up and dance. It also works as a music player in the car for long trips.

               7. Sketch Pad. Whether you want to design that new backyard garden or sketch the layout for the new kitchen, the iPad makes a great sketch pad. Then you can take it to the hardware or garden store to find the supplies you’ll need for the project.

               8. PowerPoint Presentation. Need to make a sales presentation to a small group or have a proposal for a charity fundraiser? The iPad is perfect for playing PowerPoints.

                9. Watch Movies. The iPad is also an excellent movie player and is portable enough to take in the car. The movie player is great for keeping kids occupied when you are on the run.

The iPad is truly a great invention, and we will continue to learn more about how to use it as new applications are developed. What unique ways do you use Apple’s new gadget?

There are a number of reasons to get a cash loan but basically boils down to having the cash you need when you need it. Cash loans from Plain Green Loans are optimal at times when you need cash fast in order to meet certain deadlines, such as bill payments. The following are 9 Practical Times to Get a Cash Loan.

1. Loss of Income

There are times when an individual experiences a significant loss of income whether as a result of a death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, health issues that render a person unable to work, and more. However, even though you may have lost part or all of your income, the bills still arrive on time. Cash loans are a great way to pay your bills on time and avoid things like late payment fees, foreclosure and repossession. It can also serve as a huge stress relief knowing these things are taken care of properly.

2. Immediate Medical Costs

When it comes to your health and the health of your loved ones, getting the immediate medical attention you need can be essential to protecting your health. There are times, however, that some insurance co-pays and certain types of medicine can be quite expensive, and if you don’t have insurance at all, you don’t want to wait until you get paid to receive the medical attention you need.

A cash loan can help get you the medical attention you need and can help you avoid extra expenses with up-front payments to a doctor instead of dealing with overwhelming emergency bills later.

3. Pay Urgent Bills

There are times when no matter how hard you try, you don’t seem to have enough cash to cover the entire monthly bills. Maybe the reason is the electric bill triples during the summer months and you find yourself behind on payments, with the possibility of your utilities being shut off.

A cash loan can save you from getting further into debt with the reconnection fees you will have to pay in order to get your utilities back on.

4. Replacement of a Major Appliance

When a major appliance in your home stops working, such as the refrigerator or stove, you are either going to need to get it fixed right away or entirely replaced. If you have an old appliance, it may be more beneficial financially to just get a new one.

If you are going to get a stove or refrigerator right away and don’t have the credit to get it with, you can very quickly get a cash loan and most major appliance stores can offer same day delivery. This way, your daily activities will not suffer too much inconvenience.

5. Air Conditioner Goes Out

There’s no better time to appreciate what an air-conditioner can do for an environment until it stops working. This can be especially truthful in the summer months as the temperatures rise above 100 degrees. You and your family don’t have to suffer in the scorching heat when you can get a new air-conditioner as your old one goes out. You can be approved for your cash loan in as little as 24 hours, and can be cool and relaxed once again.

6. Major Plumbing Disasters

When you are hit with a major plumbing disaster in your home, you are going to have to do more than put down a few towels. When your sink or toilet overflows onto the floor you may be talking major clean-up expenses in addition to the cost of a plumber.

If you need immediate money for plumbing expenses and the cost of replacing your carpets and other things that were damaged in the flood of your home, cash loans can help relieve you of that stressful situation and get you home back to normal.

7. Family Travel Emergency

It can be a hard and stressful situation when a loved one dies. Added to your stress may be the fact that this family member lived a far distance from you and you are at a loss of what to do when you need to travel for funeral services since you are strapped for cash. Getting a cash loan will mean that you will have enough money to share in the grief with your loved ones and pay your respects.

8. Fire, Flooding, Earthquake Disaster

In Bismarck, N.D., on June 24, Minot received an overwhelming amount of water as the Souris River started to swamp an estimated 2,500 homes with nearly 4 feet of water in less than a day. According to city officials as much as 4,500 homes are expected to suffer extensive damage by the time the river was to peak.

Many times residences are left with absolutely no resources after a natural disaster, and if they are evacuated to another area they are going to need money for items such as water, food, shelter, clothing and more, and a quick cash loan can help you and your family get some relief.

9. Start-Up Costs in Business

It is very important to put a lot of effort, work and research in starting a new business. However, all this is worthless unless you have sufficient capital to begin your business. Some of the common start-up business expenses include:

Supplies

Office furniture

Remodeling costs

Employee wages

Taxes

If you have been doing a lot of spending in order to get things ready and realize you fall short of what you need for opening day, you don’t have to panic and throw in the towel just yet. Don’t let others down who have been depending on this moment right along with you; get a cash loan to cover your needed business expenses.

Conclusion: Cash Loan Basics

A cash loan is a short-term, small loan that is usually used to cover the expenses of the borrower until they can receive their next paycheck. This can be a great option for those who are in need of immediate cash for emergencies, but are unable to wait until their next pay period.

The loan process is simple; a lender provides a loan that is short-term, to be repaid by the borrower as soon as their next pay period comes. If you are in need of immediate cash to cover things like bills, household expenses, travel and more, a cash loan may be just what you need.

maintaining good relationships is a great way to have a happy and healthy life. Having a close network of friends and family help people to recover from hard situations, be able to express thoughts and opinions regularly, and have the proper social engagement that people need to have in order thrive. It is those key relationships that can help people function better in society.

Goodness that Keep Going

The other aspect to having healthy relationships is the fact that they do help people navigate other types of relationships whether they are social networking types, or simply work related. Everyone that is around us is considered part of a relationship, and the different situations are handled determines the capacity for maintaining certain people and their needs in everyday situations.

The biggest benefit of having positive social interactions is the fact that people do satisfy an internal need that is present in everyone. That need that states their is the presence for acceptance, being liked, and feeling needed. Those three aspects are what is contributed through a good relationship, then reciprocated when on good terms.

How to Handle a Fallout

Friends get into arguments on a regular basis. Some are never able to mend their friendship though, and as a result people can feel rejected or hurt. While this can happen, it is more important to handle the argument in a way that would help salvage the friendship. Accepting blame for something you have done wrong is a great first step in keeping the friendship alive.

“I’m not materialistic. I believe in presents from the heart, like a drawing that a child does.” It may be surprising that this sentiment was expressed by Victoria Beckham, the queen of posh, but her view of gift giving captures the simple beauty of what the custom is all about.

Giving Big

It’s very easy to equate the biggest and most expensive with the amount of love and appreciation you feel for a person; after all, you want them to have the best. But frequently, the gifts from your heart are cherished far more than one with a big price tag.

What Can You Give?

If you want to do something special for a family member, friend, partner, teacher, or even your whole community, think about what they love, and ponder these ideas too:

Random acts of kindness are small, heartfelt gifts you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to give. Leave a little love note on your partner’s pillow, or a flower on the car of someone who could use a little cheering up.

Volunteer and charity work is a gift; you may be giving it to strangers, but this gift is heartily appreciated.

Store bought is still ok! Maybe it’s a book they’ve been wanting for months, or an old Polaroid camera they’ve been wishing for, or a beautiful ring that perfectly matches the color of her eyes. The trick is trading bulk and brands for heartfelt sentiments, even if it is a book of their favorite jokes!

Is a birthday coming up? An anniversary? Think about your special someone, and don’t forget to follow Posh’s words of wisdom!

Here’s your life. You work hard all day. All you want to do is come home, relax, watch a little news, and then catch the game on your direct television programming. If the game isn’t on, you’d settle for a blockbuster action flick. It’s a fantasy because your current entertainment set up is holding you hostage to the Disney Channel before 8PM and Lifetime after 8PM.

How do you keep the girls happy and still get all the streaming movies, sports channels and news you could ever want? Rob a bank? Nope. Be a smart consumer.

Start With Your Television

Start with the heart of your home entertainment universe. Without good television options, life can get boring very fast. You have a couple of options, and one isn’t necessarily better than the other. You just have to decide which one works for you and your family.

Today’s television viewing demands high definition digital service, and that comes via cable or satellite. Cable services will depend on what’s available in your viewing area, but satellite is available anywhere. Both will provide high quality digital viewing. How do you pick one?

Cable v. Satellite

The pros for cable are that you have an uninterrupted stream into your home. The weather or fallen trees won’t knock it out. In many communities, you can save a chunk of change by bundling your cable, phone and Internet. In that case, give this option a whirl.

The pros for satellite are that your options are simple. DirecTV or DISH. Both provide superior customer service and both provide multiple DVR hook-ups. Disney and Lifetime just moved down the hall to the bedrooms. Local channels are automatically provided, and the various package options make it easy to pick a package you can afford.

Both cable and satellite offer premium movie channels, and for some, that’s enough to satisfy the household movie demands. When you do the price breakdown, in most cases, you’ll find satellite to offer the most options at the best price. A tree probably won’t fall on your dish, but just be prepared for weather interruption. You lose the phone and Internet option, so definitely look at what you value most.

“We Only Watch the News and Movies”

There are those high brow people who have no use for television programs beyond PBS and the news. If you’re one of those families, then movies – er, films – are what your family loves. At least everyone but your game crazed son. You definitely need a good movie rental service.

You need films, but you also need games, and in some cases, you need secret access to last season’s episodes of True Blood. You have two options. Ditch the television and read CNN.com before you stream a movie, or look into a movie rental source that can be used in tandem with your cable or satellite TV.

Option two is the better value, long run. Movie rental options are many, but Netflix, Blockbuster and iTunes are some of the more popular choices. If games are important, cross Netflix off the list. If music is important, stick with iTunes. It might be time for a family meeting.

Movie Rentals That Offer Variety, Flexibility and Idiot Proofing

Let’s face it, there are certain members of your household, who will remain unnamed for your protection, that aren’t so good at figuring out technology. Pick a movie service that’s easy to install for downloads, but that also offers the old fashion disc in the mail option. For a strictly streaming situation, Blockbuster has more new releases, but Netflix is easier to use.

Some of the most recent releases will still have to come via mail, but Netflix is simple to install and it can be streamed to your computer, to your TV via your Wii, or via your Android. If you want movies stream

d, via the Internet, to your DVR, HULU is your option, but only if you have TiVo. On the other hand, it can be streamed to your television via your HDMI connection.

If you choose HULU as your only TV and movie option, know they don’t provide all channels. Some major networks are missing; like CBS. All common sense still points in the direction of one good television service and one good movie rental service. Based on ease of use, flexibility of options and variety, Netflix will be your most economical and satisfying movie choice.

The DVR Will Save You When the Disney Princesses Take Over

It’s gonna happen. You will come home from a hard day of work, and all you’ll want to do is watch a replay of the baseball game you missed last night. You will plop down in your chair and find yourself assaulted by Snow White and a giggling seven year old. If that’s the only DVR in the house, you’re in for a very long night. Muriel is in the queue.

To avoid the above scenario, pick a satellite or cable service that offers multiple DVR connections and the ability to watch multiple programming at the same time. You will lose your mind without it.

Let’s Wrap Up With a Comparison Rundown

If you need a phone and internet bundle, pick cable.

If you want better service, more channels and multiple DVRs, pick satellite.

To save money on movies and get the variety you love, try Netflix.

If games are a must, it’s either iTunes or Blockbuster.

A super inexpensive scenario would go like this: DISH network for $24.99 a month and streaming Netflix for $4.99 a month. Add an extra DVR for $17.00 a month. For a family with multiple tastes, that’s a lot of flexibility for a really good price.

Let’s say you budget $100 per month for entertainment. Based on the above options, you can definitely stream, have every channel, and rent multiple DVRs while saving cash.

Life is a matter of twists and turns. People are able to decide the direction of their lives by determining the level of education they want, where they want to live, and even who they want to live with. These factors will eventually be what defines a person as upper, middle, or lower class, as well as happy, successful, or friendly. Much of these decisions also come as a matter of experience through upbringning, but people are responsible for their own decisision, and therefore have much power over their lives.

Taking Control

For those that have not had the ideal life, the ideal upbrining or parents, they can still choose to live a life that best fits them. Choosing to go to school and be educated is one of the best decisions a person can make while they are still relatively young. Some of the other decisision include being wise financially, and taking care of those around you. Making friends, and dealing with responsibilities well is a great way to guarantee that you are going to have the life and the networks you desire.

These aspects will help to ensure that when the time comes for you to need the help or care, that people will be there for you too. Nurture the relationships in your life because at the end of the day, what you have with friends and your health is your wealth and quality of life. These are words to live by as you navigate your decisions.

Appreciating the samll things in life is a great way to live the kind of life that makes you happy. There are very few things in life that bring true joy, but understanding that things will never be perfect, or that friends are part of a wealth is a great way to develop an appreciation and respect for the small things. Some of the little joys in life include:

Watching a nice sunrise

Walking a dog

Visiting with frie

nds

Enjyoing a good meal

Waving to a neighbor

These are things that are important to help keep you young and thriving, and it gives you a moment to appreciate your health.

The Underrated Net Worth

There are many things that people use to gauge their wealth with. A large home, expensive car, or fancy clothing. However, there are people that lay in hospital beds everyday that would give everything they own to be whole and healthy again. Health is the most important part of a persons life, and without it, the quality is never what is desired, regardless of material wealth.

Having good friends is also part of a wealth system. Take care of the connections that you have and cherish, and they will later take care of you. These networks help form close bonds that can last a lifetime, while others may find that a close set of friends is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. The desire to be social is a healthy and fulfilling feeling that not many have.

Your family probably experienced its fair share of rugged economy woes. Now that things are slowly improving and your employment is intact, it’s time to ask yourself this question: how can I be more prepared should financial skies cloud over again?

More Than Just Budgeting

You may think budgeting and ditching bottled water are the only safeguards you have against sudden unemployment or fiscal dips. In reality, a budget is just the beginning. With these steps, you’ll prepare your family for a more secure future, no matter what financial disaster strikes.

Build a money safety net. Set aside money every month for use only during emergencies.

Pay off debt as quickly as possible, and avoid incurring any more.

Monitor expenditures. There may be more ways to save than you thought.

Stock up. Take advantage of sales to purchase multiples of food and necessary items. Stored food and toilet paper, can be used during emergencies or tight financial times.

Learn to garden. Growing your own herbs and produce saves money, and can be done in an apartment.

Fix it! Learn basic household repair so costly pros don’t destroy your budget. A skilled friend can teach you plumbing and electric techniques, and changing your car’s oil is easier than you’d think.

Invest in education. Take steps to make yourself more hirable should you face sudden unemployment. A certificate or degree completion can open previously closed doors, and loans and grants can help deflect costs.

There is a peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re doing all you can to prepare for a sturdy future. Do you have a plan? It’s never too late to get started!

Whether it’s due to employees out of town or unexpected circumstances that can’t wait until 9 am the next day, every office has at least one reason to be mobile. Not to mention, mobility helps offices save time and money. However, an office that functions outside the office means much more than employees taking a few work papers home with them. Following are a few tips that any office can utilize in their quest to become mobile.

Use Mobile Devices and Apps

Mobile devices like smartphones and tablets have as many business capabilities as most computers. For one, these devices offer a lot of computing power, especially for storing data like documents and images. In addition, they feature all the basic communications systems from telephony to email. However, their greatest benefit lies in the business apps available for download that cover many operations usually found in an office. For example, the metrofax internet faxing app allows users to check out office faxes right on their phone. With mobile devices with these kinds of capabilities, office employees can do just about anything while on the go.

Additional useful business apps include:

Evernote

GoToMeeting

Dragon Dictation

Dropbox

Bento

WebEx

DaVinci

Acquire Remote Computing Access

Sometimes an office’s data is much too big to try and manage on a mobile device, or it can only be accessed through the company network. These stipulations will certainly limit the mobility of your office. Unless, your office implements business solutions for accessing your network remotely. One such solution is the Cisco OfficeExtend that provides users the ability to effectively use the office network from anywhere as if they were sitting at their office desk. This kind of mobile connectivity lets workers turn their homes into their own office space, as well as gives the company the ability to hire off-site help, like freelancers and independent contractors.

Outsource Operations

It’s hard for an office to become mobile when certain operations require constant attention. To increase mobility, companies should consider breaking the chains of such operations that keep it tied to the office. A primary example is customer service. It is typically a 24-hour operation that demands employees to be on call at all times. However, while it is an important business division, it too can be outsourced. By using a remote customer service provider, a business can have full-time coverage without keeping the office lights on year round. This is a mobility enhancer that provides major money savings by eliminating the need to pay labor and equipment costs. And think of all the free time an office would have while not answering phones.

With mobility, the work of an office goes far beyond the walls of the building it’s housed in. In fact, by applying the tips above, a company can turn the entire world into its very own office. Your office employees no longer have to worry about maintaining regular nine to five hours. How mobile is your office?

Congratulations! If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve either just decided to start a family or you’ve just found out you’re pregnant. Either way, this will be one of the most exciting times of your life. Because you can’t keep this information to yourself for the entire nine months, review this list of important people to tell after you make this life-changing choice:

1. Your Partner

The very first discussion should be with your partner. If you’re not pregnant yet, it would be unfair to take this step without agreement from the future father. This choice will not only change your life forever, it will alter his, as well.

If you and your partner have been actively trying to get pregnant, a positive pregnancy test will be the best news he could ever hear! Prepare a private celebration before you share the good news with anyone else.

2. Your Doctor

Whether you’re pre-planning your pregnancy or you simply think you could be expecting, talk to your doctor as early as possible. He’ll make sure your health is in order and provide advice about how to feel your best at all stages of the pregnancy. Most moms-to-be find that using a pregnancy checklist as a reminder helps them know when to do everything from scheduling an important medical test to preparing the nursery.

3. Your Other Children

Having a new baby will change the lives of your other children in addition to your own. By involving your kids as early as possible, you can prevent any jealousy and a certain amount of sibling rivalry. Make sure they know just how important they will be in the life of the newest family member and that you will be depending on them to help.

4. The Rest of the Family

In most cases, your family, especially the new grandparents, will be just as excited as you are. Depending on whether or not your children can keep a secret, you might need to share the news to your extended family right after you let the kids know. You wouldn’t want anyone’s feelings to be hurt because they think they were the last to know.

5. Your Friends

Who doesn’t want to share good news with friends? Again, no one wants to be the last to know. Before sharing, organize a phone list or create an email distribution list so that you can let everyone know within a short time-frame. Be prepared for some of your friends to spread the news for you!

6. Your Employer

During your second trimester (before you show up in the office in maternity clothes), it’s usually a good idea to let your employer know you’ll be taking maternity leave in the near future. This timing provides plenty of advance notice, but doesn’t impact your right to privacy.

As you share your decision to start a family with the world, be prepared for a lot of questions and more than a little unwanted advice. When will you share your news?

There is nothing wrong with wanting to save a dollar on the things you need in your life. Sometimes you have to live on a fixed income or you don’t get the raise that you had expected. There are, however, a few things in life that you can’t take the cheap way out of. Here are eight things that you can compromise quality for.

      1. Car Insurance

Car insurance is a no brainer. You can’t try and save a dollar if it’s going to hurt the quality of the coverage you so desperately need for your car. You need coverage that will protect you in any situation, so look for an insurance company that is true to their word on paying claims.

      2. Food

Buying low quality meats and food will not only cause you to gain weight, but also have a negative impact on your mood. If it costs a little bit more to get the higher quality foods, then there should be no debate. There can be no shortcutting what you put into your body.

      3. Medical Insurance

If you don’t think you need proper health coverage, or think you can get away with less than quality insurance because it’s going to save you a dollar, then think again. The price for having low quality health insurance could cripple you financially. Get the best insurance you can. You’ll be thankful you did.

      4. Bed

If you have ever had a bad night’s sleep, then you know why it’s essential to have a good mattress. Yes, they can be expensive, but a bad mattress can cost you a lot more than money. From back pain to sleepless nights, there is no reason to sacrifice the quality of your sleep.

      5. Good Formal Wear

Whether it be a suit or the right dress, your appearance matters. Be smart and get one good item that you can wear to a job interview, wedding or funeral. It might cost you a few dollars, but looking appropriate is worth it.

      6. New Car

You can buy a used car, but you are playing with fire. Getting a new car might cost you a little more but the money you’ll save by having a warranty is worth it.

      7. A Computer

Most people rely on their computers for many things. Don’t sacrifice the quality just to save a few dollars. You want a computer that you can depend on time and time again, and that’s worth a little more money.

      8. Education

Yes, there are affordable ways to get education, but don’t let that be the overriding factor. Sometimes spending a little more can prepare you for your intended profession. Don’t sacrifice knowledge to save a few dollars. There is nothing quality about that.
When it comes to these eight things, quality must be the number one priority. While cost is always a factor, there are some things that are more important than saving a buck.

Dads in particular have a wide range of interest- some typical, like a gearhead, and some not so typical… like being really conscious of his style and fashion. Father’s day is one of the biggest holidays during the year for a dad besides his kid’s birthday’s and his own birthday’s, so it’s important to take into consideration what he may want. This infographic pulls in some data to showcase what exactly is being bought.

There’s materialistic, and there’s practical. Between the two lies a wide, parking-lot sized field of gray area. It’s probably being materialistic to continually buy things that you can’t afford and then show them off to your circle of friends in a bragging manner. It’s another thing to proudly show off a new acquisition every once in a while, especially if you’ve worked and saved to earn it. That’s the very definition of the practical, old-school, American way. Of course, few people live in this fashion any longer. Most people buy things with loans or credit, and many can’t quite afford what they buy.

Living on credit can wreak havoc on one’s spending budget. When the bills come due, money can be pretty tight. One way to free up cash is to look into car refinance loans. It used to be that one could get a good chunk of cash in their hands to work on their financial problems by refinancing their home. But with the average home loan upside-down, there’s no longer any room to do this. But car values haven’t seen any fluctuations, unlike the housing market’s woes.

Your bright and shiny auto is most likely depreciating at a steady rate, unaffected by speculation. For this reason, it’s pretty practical to unlock some spare spending cash by refinancing the wheels. This can put some money into your hands faster than virtually any other route. And in these tight economic times, who can’t use a little breathing room in their personal budget? That’s just a matter of practicality; there’s nothing materialistic about it at all!

Americans have always been a thrifty lot—heck, Betsy Ross pulled out her sewing kit for a little American flag-DIY. Utilize a few tips in party thrift and your 4th will be fantastically cheap.

Make it a potluck. It worked for the pilgrims! Ask guests to bring a favorite dish. Jazz it up with a food theme if you like: red, white, and blue, summer memories, New England, or best dessert wins.

Use splashes of color. Inexpensive patriotic tablecloths are festive, and when paired with twinkle lights, guests, and piles of food, they’re all the decoration you need.

Make patriotic windmills. Hand held windmills are inexpensive and easy with a downloadable template. Display them in buckets for decorations or use them to entertain children.

Borrow some nature. Pretty wildflowers gathered in buckets are perfect for rustic America-style gatherings.

Strike up the band. Burn a CD of patriotic songs to play at the party. A few Sousa tunes will get everyone in the mood.

What about the fireworks? There are hundreds of free, breathtaking displays all over the country. Get online to find one nearest you. Start spreading the word now—your 4th is going to be fantastic without sacrificing a bit of frugal.

Shopping online is akin to visiting the biggest mall you could imagine. Forget picturing the Mall of America; the Internet “mall” is like having access to thousands of stores located all across the world, in addition to all the ones you already know about.

That blue cardigan you saw in a magazine? That chocolate bar you had in London and still dream about? They’re all online, waiting for you to buy them.

Millions of people shop online regularly, even for basics like toilet paper. On the other hand, millions of people approach online shopping with trepidation. Unfortunately, scammers today have legitimized some of these concerns. You don’t need to fear online shopping, though; you just need to know how to protect yourself while you’re buying.

With these essential points in hand, you can take to the Internet and enjoy its bounty.

1. Visit Reputable Sites

Safety issues occur more often than not at smaller, lesser known sites. That’s not to say Suzy’s Quilt Supply in Duluth is a scam. It simply means that if you’re uncomfortable shopping online, start with the most reputable stores. Target, Nordstrom, Amazon, Orvis… these are big companies that spend significant amounts of manpower and money on security and safety.

2. Look for Privacy and Security

Reliable web stores will take steps to protect you while you’re shopping, no matter how big or small they are. Look for information on the site about their safety precautions. When you begin the checkout process, look for a small padlock icon in the bottom right corner of the screen; it tells you the site is secure. If things look dubious, hightail it out of there and find a store that cares more about protecting you. Also, consider taking steps to protect yourself by looking into identity theft restoration; sometimes misfortune simply happens.

3. Do Your Research

If you have doubts about a site, check up on it. Look for the company’s contact info and give them a call. Check with the BBB. Do a search for the store and see if other customers have posted experiences dealing with them. Are they positive? Was the product received? Was there hassle or smooth sailing?

4. Keep Tabs

Once you’ve taken all precautions and made an online purchase, keep tabs on things. Track your package if the service was offered. Print order numbers, scan your receipts, communication, and contact information. Check out your bank statements for dubious items, no matter how small, and act on suspicious withdrawals immediately. Payment services like PayPal are safer ways to pay for items, and they will dispute incorrect charges too.

The majority of consumers, when equipped with basic smarts and the above precautions, have a great time shopping online, with no problems at all. What steps will you take to protect yourself? Keep them in mind as you browse the world’s biggest mall. It’s pretty fun getting stuff in the mail, isn’t it?

It used to be that those who were poor had no possibility of moving up in the world no matter their ambition because they didn’t have any access to funds. With the Internet, that’s changed. Now “small business owners” can get help with funding by applying online.

Two Ways to Give

There are many sites online that provide this funding to those who need it. Those who want to apply, fill out an application online and wait. There are two ways to receive money for their project: one is through donations while the other is through microfinance loans. These small loans are then paid back to those who gave the money. What’s great about this funding is it can help people all over the world just by using PayPal. It could be a goat herder in Africa looking for a way to buy more goats or it could be someone in India looking to start a small business. It’s a great way to spread the wealth worldwide.

Vetting the Entrepreneurs

The most important thing when it comes to these micro-charities and micro-loans is being sure that the projects to be funded are legit. If donor is in the U.S., how does she know that the money she gives will be used for what the applicant claims it will be used for? The answer is that local groups in that area to confirm that the project is valid before the person receives the money.

Isn’t it amazing how technology has changed the lives of everyone worldwide? Just by going online, you can help someone in a far away country gain a better life.

When you are a creative type, the odds are good that you will perform better in certain careers than in others. As a creative individual, there are a number of different jobs out there that will jive well with who you are as a person by working well with your creativity needs. Ignore data entry and accounting jobs and find something that brings out your passions, instead. Here are some great job ideas to consider:1. Landscape Designer: Imagine playing with flowers, plants and landscaping elements all day. Turn a client’s yard into your own personal canvas. If you enjoy nature, then this may just be the career opportunity for you, as it allows you to work outside in the sunshine while designing beautiful, professional landscapes.

2. Graphic Designer: Graphic designers work with a variety of clients to create printed works, graphics for websites, and other design elements. You could create logos or website designs for a wide variety of purposes, stretching your creativity in the process.

3. Interior Designer: As an interior designer, a room or an entire home is your canvas, and you are working with a variety of mediums. Use paint, wallpaper, decals, furniture and accent pieces to create a completed look. If you are great at coordinating colors, styles and designs, then this is an ideal career for you.

4. Photographer: Photographers can choose a specialty such as portraiture or wedding photography, or they can take photographs of anything that a client requests. Go into business for yourself, work for a portrait studio or take a job with a local paper.

5. Web Designer: Web designers, like graphic designers, get to design for businesses and other clients. You will be able to craft custom websites to suit the needs of many different clients, and so your creativity will be put to the test as you strive to meet the needs of each customer.

6. Hair and Makeup Artists: As a cosmetician or hair dresser, each client is your canvas. Help your clients achieve the look that they seek by taking their hints and acting accordingly. Apply makeup or style hair for individual clients, work for a salon or take a makeup and hair artist job in Hollywood — whatever suits you!

7. Performing and Visual Arts Teacher: If you enjoy visual or performing arts, and want to share your passion with others, then you may consider teaching. As a performing arts or visual arts teacher, you would be able to share your passion for creativity with other creative minds, contributing to their individual abilities to be just as creative as you are.

These are just some examples of how you can put your creativity to work for you. Pursue creativity in your jobs and career opportunities and you will go far. These are just some of the ways that you can put your creativity to work for you. How many more creative job types can you come up with?

If you have grandchildren but feel you aren’t as close to them as you’d like, one thing you can do to resolve that is to create some yearly traditions during their summer vacation from school. Here are some ideas for traditions.

Grandchildren Camp

Every year, do a grandchildren camp. Invite your grandchildren to come visit for a week where you’ve planned activities. It’s best if you have a theme, such as Hollywood or Dinosaur Adventure. The activities and food would correspond with the theme. It would require a lot of preparation, but would be something that the grandkids look forward to every year and would be something they would always remember. By having it be a camp, you could have all the kids stay in a tent outside, which would mean you wouldn’t have to worry about having enough beds. The camp would give the kids a chance to bond with their cousins as well.

Trip with the Kids

If possible, depending on your budget, a trip with just one or some of the grandkids would be a great way to bond as well. Without the parents there, the kids will have a chance to get to know you better and you’ll be able to be closer to them by having a chance to share stories of your childhood and learn what their favorite activities are. Be sure to check with the parents before planning the trip to find out what the kids like to do for fun so you can be sure the trip will be enjoyable for them.

With the world becoming more and more materialistic and credit cards being so easy to obtain, our country is in more debt now than ever before. It’s so easy to find yourself thousands of dollars in debt. So what can you do to avoid debt? Here are some tips.

Avoid Credit Cards

One way to avoid debt is to not use credit cards at all. It’s so easy to think that you’ll be able to pay off the entire bill so it doesn’t gain interest, but unless you’ve been able to do so consistently, month after month, it’s better not to use them at all. Especially since if you’re carrying any balance at all, then anything you purchase is instantly gaining interest.

Instead, use cash for everything. You never have to worry about whether you have the money if you use cash. Budget out how much you want for each type of purchase (groceries, entertainment, gas, etc.) and then withdraw that amount. Have an envelope for each type and once there is no money in that envelope, you can’t get that type of item until the next month.

Create a Budget

This leads us into the next point. Have a budget. So many people wing it and it hurts them in the end. First calculate all of your needs — rent/mortgage, utilities, car insurance, etc. — and then calculate a percentage for savings, which is typically 10 percent. With what’s left over, decide what you want to spend on fun stuff like movies and eating out.

By using these tips, you can be closer to saving rather than spending.

Many people have tried to embrace a green lifestyle by turning to recent developments in technology. Although hybrid cars and energy-efficient appliances can certainly make the world a better place, you don’t have to spend all that money to change your lifestyle. Instead, learn a few lessons from the lives of generations past.

Before Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Was Cool

Your grandmother recycled everything. She didn’t do it because it was the cool thing to do. She did it because it made sense. Instead of throwing away aluminum cans, save them until you have enough to recycle them. You can often sell aluminum cans to recycling centers or beverage distribution companies. Just use Canada 411 to find one near you.

Some other items that you should consider reusing and recycling include

Twist ties

Paper and plastic bags

Jars

Scrap paper

Your grandmother knew that making the most out of every product would save money. You can apply that same ethos to your life.

Walk, Don’t Drive

When it comes to transportation, you might need to look beyond your grandmother’s generation for the inspiration that you need to live a greener lifestyle. Your great-grandmother certainly didn’t hop into a car every time that she needed to visit the store. She walked, and you should do the same. It will save you money, reduce pollution, and keep you in better shape.

Few of us think about the luxuries that surround us. Air conditioning, cars, plastic bags, and disposable cameras are things that no one had several generations ago. Try living like them and you’ll certainly find ways to have a positive impact on the world.

“The times, they are a changing.” . . . Do these words sound familiar? If so then maybe you are part of the good old days when placing a bet at least meant you got to enjoy the event upon which you wagered. Doesn’t necessarily have to happen anymore; actually, more often than not, bets are placed by people hundreds or even thousands of miles away from an actual event.

Online Sports Betting

Now it is possible for us to use the internet and bet on just about anything we want. Sports betting has become very popular. You can bet on football, baseball, basketball, cricket, tennis, horse racing, greyhound racing, and yacht racing. You can see that the options are just about endless. People from all different walks of life participate in online betting. Some families even make it a tradition to bet on certain events such as the Kentucky Derby or the Super Bowl.

Good Site/Bad Site

All sports betting sites are not created equal. Some sites are really good and serve their users well. Others don’t do what they claim to do, have poor information or are just bad sites. There are sites set up to review and recommend trustworthy sites to those interested in sports betting. Choosing the site you use can really determine what type of sports betting experience you have.

Which Type Is for You

There are mainly two types of bets in sports betting: match up betting and betting to win. One requires a larger event or tournament, the other doesn’t.

There are lots of options if this is for you; choose wisely!

Keeping family traditions alive isn’t always easy when you have family members living all over the country. Some people even have relatives living in foreign lands, which will make it even more difficult to stay in contact and to keep those traditions thriving. By using the right methods, you can let everyone in your family know about your upcoming house party. That way, you can make sure that everyone knows about your celebration of the traditions that are important to your family.

Keeping in Contact With Family

There are numerous ways to stay in contact so that everyone knows about your upcoming event. Some families use emails to keep everyone informed.

You can also use flyers to keep your family connected. These flyers might contain information about when and where you’re hosting the party. Today’s mail services are reliable enough that you can expect your family to receive the flyers in time for the event.

You can even use a blog to keep everyone informed. As long as everyone in your family has Internet access, you can post invitations for the upcoming events on your blog.

Changing With the Times

Just because technology has significantly changed the way that many people lead their lives, it doesn’t mean that you have to let go of your family traditions. Many people find that they can stay better connected to their families by spreading the word about upcoming house parties through new methods. When everyone knows about the event, it’s much more likely that you will have a large turnout. Once your family is there, you can share stories about the traditions you all enjoy.

First impressions are important on a first date. Everyone wants to make the best first impression on their date that they can. The best way to make a great impression is by dressing your best for the given occasion. However, if you don’t know what is appropriate for a given situation you may not be able to dress your best for that first date.

Here’s a guide on what you can choose to wear for certain first date situations. This will help you choose a great outfit that will hopefully make a great first impression.

Casual First Dates

On casual dates you want to wear something that is appropriate and allows you to move around. Jeans and a t-shirt or sweater from LRG Clothes are very appropriate for casual first date situations. You don’t want to overdress for a casual date but you do want to make a good first impression, so choose something that allows you to move around but shows off your best side.

Fancy First Dates

Some first dates are considered high-class or fancy. When it comes to these types of dates you really want to give it your all and wear your best clothing. Some typical fancy first date clothing includes evening gowns, dresses, pantsuits, or short skirts. Don’t forget to add a little bling to your eveningwear by accessorizing with earrings, necklaces or rings. These accessories can help make a great first impression.

You only get one chance to make a good first impression. By keeping some of these tips in mind you’ll be able to make a great first impression on your first date.

Those who go to college and earn a degree are likely to have a better career, which can lead to a better life. Each person is different and college is not for everyone. However, if you have the ambition and drive to create a successful future, college may be the first step.

Why College Matters

When it comes to getting a college education, find opportunities at EarnMyDegree.com. Look at the number of different programs available. Then, consider what earning one of those degrees can mean to you.

Those who get a college degree may get better benefits from employers. Employers may offer jobs with higher benefit levels, including life insurance, retirement benefits, and better health packages.

Those who have more of an advanced degree have better job security. If your career is in a highly specialized area, chances are good there are fewer people who can do it and, thus, you are more in demand. That creates job security for you.

According to statistics, parents with better paying and more advanced jobs provide a better life for their children. You are more likely to be able to pay for your child’s college education, too.

Employers consider those who have a college degree more serious about their futures. Now that so many career training and degree programs are available online, there are more reasons than ever to get your education. While not all successful careers require a college degree, people who do have these degrees tend to do better financially throughout life. This could be the right way for you to advance your future, and perhaps improve your child’s future down the road, too.

Giving to charity is an important decision whether it’s your first time or your 50th. You want to make sure that you are giving your hard earned money to a charitable organization that will honor the sacrifices you’ve made to give by making sure the maximum amount of money gets to those who need it most or can do the most with it. This guide will walk you through the process and help you make the right decision for your first charitable donation.

Decide on a cause. This is the easy part for most people. Almost everyone has a cause that is near and dear whether it’s domestic violence, cancer research for children, Alzheimer’s research, or even playground equipment for needy children. It’s easy to find a worthy cause you just have to settle on the one that speaks volumes to you right now.

Research charities that address your cause. You want to know more about them than just what causes they work with. You also need to need to know how they use the money they are given, how much of the money given actually gets to the people in need or those doing the research, and where their efforts are focused (local, nationwide, or worldwide for example), and if they are a non-profit organization like Kars 4 Kids.

Pay the organization a visit. If you can’t drive up and knock on the door, then visit their website to learn as much as possible about the people that make the charity work.

These three steps can help you find the right cause and organization for your charitable giving today and in the future.

In days of yore, grandparents lived next door to their children and grandchildren. Aunts and uncles lived up the street. Because everyone lived so close, family members regularly associated with each other and did activities together that strengthened their relationships.

This is not so in today’s world. Grandparents live across the country and even in different countries. Aunts, uncles, and cousins live too far away for regular visits.

Cover of Grandpa (Talk-about-Books)

Hold a family reunion. It doesn’t have to be lengthy. It doesn’t have to be in an expensive location. It could be a simple as a picnic in a park or camping in the mountains. Plan activities that bring family members together: telling stories around the campfire, hiking, playing volleyball.

Teach skills. When extended family members get together, share skills or talents. Grandpa could help grandchildren learn photography. An aunt could teach a niece how to scrapbook. A grandson could teach grandparents how to video chat.

Play together. When families get together, adults like to sit around and talk. This bores children. Make sure that get togethers include games and playing. Play board games or put puzzles together. Put on skits. Have a guitar sing-along. Play basketball or softball.

Write a family newsletter. If family members live far apart, create a newsletter. One person can collect information, type it up, and send it to other family members. This could be a paper newsletter sent in the postal mail or an electronic newsletter sent through e-mail.

Create a family blog. Give all family members access so they can log on and write posts. Have family members upload pictures. Share what is going on in your lives.

We all come from different backgrounds and circumstances. Did you know that identical twins reared in the same home will have different backgrounds because of their individual perceptions? It is true! We all have our own unique way of seeing things. One thing is common to all of us, at least in the United States, and that is income taxes. At some point or other we will all need to file income taxes, whether for a refund or to pay our share. There are a few breaks that Uncle Sam gives us, however.

One of those breaks is the contributions we make to our favorite charities. We can give to churches, hospitals, animal shelter organizations, foreign aid programs… the list can go on and on. The main thing we need to do is to make sure to get and keep a receipt of the donations. Monetary, no problem, get a receipt and save it. If your contributions are in kind such as in thrift store donations, you still need to get a receipt but you will have to place the value on the items donated.

When you file your taxes, and use the free irs efile which is available, you will put in that amount of money you have contributed to charities. There are tools in many programs which can help you place a reasonable value on your donated items.

Did you know that regardless of whether you are lower class, middle class or upper class, studies have shown that those who give to charities are better off financially and emotionally? It’s true!

It has been said that once a family escapes from having to live hand to mouth, their primary motivation in life is to keep up with the proverbial Joneses. While there might not be a family on their block named Jones, the desire to be at least on the same level as one’s perceived equals is a central theme of the human experience. While everybody wants to keep up with others, sometimes the price is a dear one.

When you strive to keep up with someone else, you start to live by their standards. This is the antithesis of being self-actualizing. While it will drive you to attain certain worldly accomplishments, ultimately having a manicured yard and a nice new car every couple of years will only really be enjoyable accomplishments if these types of things are what you really want in life. If they aren’t, you’ll just end up working very hard to feel like you’re accomplishing very little. If that’s how you want to live that way, be prepared to be mediocre.

It’s shrieks and laughter, the search for candy beneath a harvest moon and an endless night: Halloween is approaching and you’re anxious for its arrival, anticipating the thrill of the season. You want to trick-or-treat with your child. You want to walk among the ghosts and ghouls (all with their buckets brimming with chocolate). It’s meant to be a perfect evening.

It, therefore, requires the perfect costume.

Choosing the right style for your child is essential for the holiday. You need time, dollars, and an understanding of the options available to you.

Consider Budget

Kids costumes are meant to satisfy, to fulfill every candy-corn dream. Such dreams can demand a high cost, however. A budget is therefore necessary. Note what can be afforded and don’t stray from that.

Plan Ahead

Halloween is defined to transformation, to the realizations of every fantasy. Not all fantasies are created equal, however. Your child may not share your vision for the night. It’s imperative; therefore, to understand what he or she wants and choose a costume that will please. Offer yourself at least two weeks to track down the necessary design, and prepare to search for the uncommon.

Recognize Options

It’s a familiar pattern: a department store is sought, its many aisles are searched, and an elusive costume is battled for, with countless hands grabbing at the same cloth. Finding a holiday look doesn’t have to be so challenging. Understand your options. Consider online shopping for convenience. Consignment boutiques can also provide unique items, and craft stores allow you to compile the materials yourself, stitching them together for a one-of-a-kind design.

A perfect night demands a perfect costume. Choose wisely.

Relationships: it’s such a relevant part of society and human life in general. Here’s the rundown–you grow up, start friendships, get a girlfriend/boyfriend, head to college, get more boyfriends/girlfriends, graduate, get a good job, get a good place to live, get another girlfriend/boyfriend, ask girlfriend to marry you (or boyfriend asks you to marry him), get married, start a new life together, have kids–

And then the whole cycle starts all over again–with your kids growing up. It’s a crazy, wild journey, isn’t it? And it all centers around relationships.

Everyone touts so much talk about the power of love this and the power of love that, and rightly so. It’s a remarkable, formidable force. It is, however, not the only essential force in a relationship. A good, healthy life together with a significant other/spouse hits the mark when it comes to trust. Trust enhances love. If you can’t trust your significant other to be the best he or she can be, you’ll have some difficulties. If you can’t trust your significant other with other people, you’re looking for a lot of needless headaches. If you can’t trust, you’ll doubt your significant other every single day.

That’s bad news for you and for your relationship. Why? The honest truth is doubt destroys everything–it can even destroy love. You go through your days wondering if your significant other will still be there, you’ll never have the energy or will to devote yourself to loving him/her. Keep that in mind. Without trust, there can be no love. So make sure you always trust–even when you get hurt. In the long run, you’ll do fine.

This recession has destroyed many people’s credit scores. Over-lending on the part of the banks combined with overspending on the part of the borrowers created a credit crisis and mass financial panic. The fallout from that panic ended with consumers trying to reduce their debt and repair their damaged credit. It is a big task made more difficult by a culture that seems to judge people by the amount of “stuff” they own. People are trying to still spend; they just need tools to help them to control that impulse.

For these people, the ones that want to control but not stop their spending while still rebuilding their credit, a vision prepaid card may be just the tool to help. By placing strict limits on their spending, people can find it easier to stay within their budget. It also offers a way to pay their bills in a timely manner, which will also help to rebuild their damaged credit. This tool can be invaluable to those in a sticky situation due to over-borrowing. These are the people who want to stay current with the latest technologies but need to limit those items to maybe just one new toy a month.

The vision prepaid card not only makes budgeting easier, it makes sticking to it a near foolproof proposition. One prepaid card for fun, one for bills and everything gets paid for and on time. While all this budgeted spending is going on, the credit score just keeps going up and up thanks to the timely payments the card assists you in making.

You’ve picked out a new car, estimated the car payments and finance charges, and even checked insurance rates. Other than figuring out ways to save money on gas, you’ve got it all covered — or do you? The truth is most drivers would be shocked if they knew the true cost of owning a vehicle. Let’s take a look at the overall expenses that come with a few popular models:

Toyota Corolla

Due to its affordable price and dependable nature, the Toyota Corolla has broken sales records year after year as the world’s most popular car. If you’re in the market for a brand new Toyota Corolla, you can pull off the lot after paying $17,394, but the expenses don’t stop there. This car will cost the average driver a little over $30,000 if they keep it for five years and drive an average of 15,000 miles each year. Here’s the breakdown:

● Depreciation – $8,054

● Taxes and Fees – $966

● Financing – $2,277

● Fuel – $7,493

● Insurance – $7,373

● Maintenance – $3,322

● Repairs – $744

Ford Fusion Hybrid

If you think you’re saving money by going green, this eco-friendly vehicle might not be as wallet-friendly as you think. However, if saving the planet is your top priority, it might be well worth it. While a 2011 model has a price tag of $31,992, the total cost of driving the Fusion for 15,000 miles per year for five years will average out to $39,126. Let’s take a look at how this one compares to the Corolla:

● Depreciation – $16,382

● Taxes and Fees – $1,662

● Financing – $4,202

● Fuel – $5,581

● Insurance – $7,181

● Maintenance – $3,368

● Repairs – $850

Jaguar XKR Convertible

Looking for luxury, style, and performance? Then, the Jaguar XKR Convertible is for you! Believe it or not, the five-year cost of ownership on this piece of automotive artwork is barely more than the cash price. This little baby’s sticker price is $108,437, but the cost-to-own is a mere $115,941. Once you start talking about a six-figure price tag, what’s a couple more thousand out of pocket? Here’s how this little baby will work with your budget:

● Depreciation – $60,129

● Taxes and Fees – $5,326

● Financing – $14,275

● Fuel – $13,953

● Insurance – $12,677

● Maintenance – $4,676

● Repairs – $4,905

The smart fortwo Brabus

If you can’t get over those cute little all-electric smart cars zooming around town, let’s take a look at their affordability. After all, how expensive could something that doesn’t look like much more than a toy actually be? Well, this particular smart car will cost you $15,349 to buy and $28,930 to own for five years. If that sounds like a smart choice to you, here’s what you’ll be paying for:

● Depreciation – $8,447

● Taxes and Fees – $875

● Financing – $2,137

● Fuel – $6,598

● Insurance – $4,030

● Maintenance – $4,524

● Repairs – $1,779

Although these figures are sobering, most of us can’t avoid owning a motor vehicle. However, a little upfront research can go alone way to ensuring you don’t purchase a car with a low price tag and a high cost of ownership. What car expenses surprise you the most?

“Pre-nups, Inheritance Taxes, Credit Reports, The Dow, Pension Shortfalls, Capital Losses” – Are these terms with which persons struggling in lower middle-class America might be familiar? And if indeed they are, would they be concerned about them while struggling to stay afloat amid the chaos of unemployment, underemployment, illness and the inability to even obtain medical assistance and coverage in the first place?

Many people have borrowed from their 401K’s, assuming they were fortunate enough to secure them in the first place. Foreclosures are reaching all-time highs, and our friends and relatives are being squeezed out of their homes. They did nothing to deserve their fates – the job market tightened, the Dow went crazy, and panic set in throughout the banks and business communities. Jobs and group health benefits have gone by the wayside.

With little or no income, families are finding it impossible to survive. A formerly solid middle class watches its stability drain away, with no relief in the immediate future. For those able to work, companies have not yet loosened up and started hiring. Banks, too, have tightened up and are stringent with lending money, due to a history of fear and greed.

How do we deal with the health care challenges for those who are financially strapped? Premiums are soaring through the roof, insurers are denying claims, retiree benefits have been dramatically slashed, and “Health Reform” remains merely an intangible concept for those who are ill. How do we meet these challenges and re-educate those who seek employment? Money and jobs equal lifestyle.

Hopefully, somewhere along the way, we will find these critical answers to some serious questions.

In the current recession, everybody really seems to be strapped for cash. Unfortunately, when finances are not getting things done in terms of providing you enough money to play with, you need to get creative with your entertainment budget and find ways to spend time with friends and family members without breaking the bank in the process. If you enjoy going out with the boys, and you are looking for ways to bring that excitement closer to home to save money, then consider having a nickel and dime poker night.

Getting Started

The supplies needed for a nickel and dime poker night with your friends are not extensive. If each member of the group contributes to their purchase, then you can take turns hosting the poker night and allow everyone in the group to feel like they are a part of it. You can save some money by having the poker night at home because buying poker supplies, snacks and drinks is generally going to be a lot cheaper than a night on the town.

There are many different types of poker tables, chips, cards and other accessories that you can buy so buy something that offers quality at a good price. Once all of the basic materials are purchased for your poker night, you can simply set a date and have everyone bring a snack or a drink, plates, cups, napkins and so on. This is going to cut down on cost. The chips can serve as nickels or dimes, or you can play with actual nickels and dimes. The basic premise here is that no one is going to lose a lot of money, and you can play for fun and not have to worry about going broke or someone else at the table going broke in the process. This is a great way to have an entire evening worth of fun with friends or family without breaking the bank in the process.

What would Moses Cleaveland have said to LeBron James? Most likely, “ADIOS”.

This infamous city was founded in 1796 and incorporated in 1836. CLEVELAND thrived and flourished throughout the Industrial Revolution.

The Indians were awesome, and so were the Browns back in the 1940’s. This tough American city became the poster-child for other cities in its era. In around 1950, the population of Cleveland flirted with a million people!

Unfortunately, racial unrest reared its ugly head in the 1960’s, and riots and crime became prevalent. The quality of education declined dramatically. In 1978, Cleveland became the first American City to actually enter a default situation since the Great Depression. Unemployment peaked at close to fourteen percent in the early eighties as the auto and steel industries were hard-hit. Lifestyles changed, and the middle class was heaviest-hit.

To top everything off, Ohio is due to lose two Congressional seats due to the population decline as recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau. With a current population well below 400,000, Cleveland is attempting to lick her wounds and re-invent herself. Withstanding brutal lake-effect snows, (and LeBron), while being named the “Most Miserable City in the U.S” by forbes.com in 2010, Cleveland is a comeback city.

Hefty taxes, high unemployment rates, cunning politicians, corruption and embarrassing sports teams cannot hold Cleveland down. In her re-emergence, she shines as the home of the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”. Cleveland is a rich cultural mecca, boasting music, fine arts, and rich and plentiful ethnic food and festivals as well as the famous “West-Side Market.”

Stay tuned, the best is yet to come.

Last Christmas, my sister demanded to know why we had bought her another “Dummies” book. It was one I was tickled about discovering in the outlet store and thought she might find informational and that might be of significant benefit to her.

Apparently, she was insulted. The last couple of “How-to”, “Dummies” (or whatever you want to call them) – generously- gifted books dealt with two totally different issues: The Ins and Outs of Digital Cameras and Writing a Good Resume and Finding a Job. After some diligent digging, and what my spouse and I thought of as keen shopping, we grinned as the cashier rang these babies up. Carefully wrapped, the latest goody sat waiting for the Yuletide season.

My husband and I love these sorts of books, and purchase them for our own use whenever we find a pertinent one. One of the last editions we bought ourselves was a Personal Finance workbook, (along with one about the same time on Protecting Your Pension). Never did we dream we would be insulting someone’s intelligence by gifting them with an informational book. Not wanting to ruin our relationship, we will likely never shower her with “How-to” books again.

Were we wrong in thinking my sister might like to keep up with technology? Or, wrongly, that we somehow feel she is ignorant? Everyone has something left to learn, and books exist to give us an edge in areas where we may need help.

Let me clarify something: my sister is one of the most intelligent people you will meet. She is totally non-materialistic, and maintains a very middle-class lifestyle. She is a dreamer and a writer.

Perhaps if I had written the “Dummies” books myself, she would have appreciated them.

It was not all that long ago that people turned their noses up at using coupons and thrift-store shopping. Materialistic lifestyles were the norm, and it was difficult to even attempt to keep up. Well, guess what, in this economy, everybody loves a bargain!

Cross-generations of Baby-Boomers, Gen-X and Y’ers are all grabbing what they can for the least amount of money. Frugal is definitely “in” to stay, and with unemployment up, salaries down, and medical costs through the roof, it pays to try to stretch your income at all levels.

Some dollar-stretching lifestyle techniques just about everyone is incorporating into their lifestyle include:

•	Shopping consignment stores and flea markets

Discount online shopping

Resisting Home-Equity Loans

“Stay-cationing” at Home Using store and online coupons and coupon codes

Purchasing store brands

Changing phone carriers and “bundling” phone, cable and internet services

Switching to interest-bearing checking accounts

Refinancing loans at a much lower rate

Using websites such as “Travelocity” and “Kayak” seeking lower airfares and travel bargains

Renting games and movies from the library

Comparing insurance rates and plans

Purchasing “pre-owned” cars

Taking advantage of new homeowner tax rebates and perks

Purchasing homes at low rates and lower costs

Obtaining financial aid

Accumulating and using Frequent Flyer Miles for purchases

Earning and using “points” on credit card purchases

Playing free games on the Internet

Starting home-based businesses

Cooking and eating at home

Exercising at home or with friends

Making home-made cleaning supplies Consider one or most of these options to streamline your budget and your life.

So you’re thinking about starting a career in property management? Good choice. There is a great need for people willing to help maintain properties and manage property funds. Some business owners would rather focus on their trade then take time to inspect buildings and collect rent, yet those areas are critical to a business’s survival. Homeowners might own more than one property, and they need help keeping track of the properties, especially if they live far away. To begin your career in Mesa property management, all you have to do is focus on your own unique talents and get the proper training.

If schooling isn’t a problem for you, consider getting a degree in finance or management. This opens up several career opportunities in the field of property management. You can become a real estate developer, in charge of assessing land, purchasing it, and planning construction on it for business or residential purposes. If you are more interested in working on buildings already in existence, you can utilize your talents by collecting and managing rent, keeping track of debt owed, budgeting for repairs, and creating end-of-the-year reports for property owners.

Some people aren’t so scholastically inclined, and that’s fine in the field of property management in Mesa. After an apprenticeship, you might use your talents to become an on-site property manager, inspecting buildings on a regular basis. With this job you would assess staff interactions and scope out the properties for weak areas. Imagine the damage a water leak could cause. When you inspect regularly, you could catch the leak and have it fixed before it becomes a disaster.

If you are serious about developing a career in Mesa property management, use a mix of classes and hands-on experience to educate yourself on the ins-and-outs of the property management industry.

Maybe people see the best as well as the worst in themselves by observing animals. Studying them at the zoo, in animal habitats, on You-Tube or even in our homes brings us knowledge about life itself. This is most likely why The Animal Planet channel has become so exceedingly popular. Animal relationships appear to be as none other. Animals mystify us: they behave and communicate in what we feel to be strange ways. Yet we, most likely, behave strangely to them! To look into their soulful eyes takes us to a different universe, one of beauty and depth. We wonder what goes on behind that mystifying animal façade.

Animals can also be our heroes. Many a story of a brave and wonderful dog has evolved from the tragedy of 911. With their steadfast sense of smell, dogs foray into a territory we can only dare to imagine as they forge ahead in desperate search and rescue ventures. They are irreplaceable police officers, often hurt or killed in the line of duty. Canine officers can achieve what no human can.

As for cats, their mystery and relationship to humans is fascinating. Our feline friends purr their way into our hearts. No two cats are alike; some are skittish, some playful, and some are so mischievous they are utterly uncontrollable. But we love them nonetheless!

Taking care of an animal is an immense responsibility. Our creature entrusts its life to us. An animal cannot cook, pour its own water, or even tell us when it is ill. It is our responsibility to take careful care of that life form from the moment we own it until it leaves us for Rainbow Bridge. Our time in-between together is beautiful, as we exist together every day, loving one another.

Rather than worrying about a pregnancy, couples need to talk about their concerns and come up with a plan on how to adapt to the changes that occur after the birth of a child. Most fears come from uncertainty, and the uncertainties that naturally come with the birth of a child might be some of the most stressful life changes that people face. Even though parents cannot plan for all of the ways that their lives will change, proper preparation can ease the transition from being a couple to becoming a couple with a child.

There are many important considerations to keep in mind prior to having a child. Does your current home have enough space to add another person? Will one of the parents stay at home with the child? If so, what are the considerations prior to one of the parents either leaving their career or taking a temporary leave of absence? These questions are not black and white, and arriving upon the best answers varies by couple. Traditional gender roles are falling away as the economy transitions. Deciding on whether the mother or the father – or either – stays at home with the child has less to do with salary or tradition than ever before.

The most stressful decisions that have to be made when having a child usually center on time management, fiscal responsibility and careers. Even though making child care and other decisions might be stressful, it does not mean that all the questions that must be answered and decisions that must be made are as painful. Deciding on a name can be an enjoyable pursuit, for example.

Monitoring a pregnancy week by week can be especially stressful if the parents do not make important decisions well before the birth. Rather than putting off the decision it is better to communicate and come to a decision.

REFLECTIONS OF A BABY BOOMER

Humanity is strange. Looking back at my dubious past as a so-called American “Baby-Boomer”, it all seemed relatively simple. Life was as naïve as I was. A black-and-white world took on a lot of color back in those days.

My sister and I pretty much grew up during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. A black and white television is featured in all the old photos I treasure from the past. Our lifestyle was: Dad went to work and arrived home. We charged in from school, and Mom served us all dinner at 5:30. Dad rested, we squinted at the little TV, and all went to bed shortly thereafter. We were your traditional “Middle Class”.

Across the main street we tolerated the “projects”. This was a housing development leftover from the last world war. Residents here were considered “lower class” as they were government-subsidized, and quite a few individuals were known to beg out on the streets. They shared the same familial relationships that we did; however, people often snubbed their noses at this particular class of people.

The true “Aristocrats” of our socio-economic times were those that thrived up on “the hill”. It was with awe and reverence that we referred to those that were fortunate enough to reside in “Beverly” or “Indian” Hills. Let me remind you that we are not talking California here – we are referring to affluent (at that time) suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio! This genteel “Upper Class” faction of society commanded most of the nuns’ attention at school. Even in school uniform these revered students radiated a fair degree of wealth and materialistic good fortune.

We probably never considered future generations, or the meaning of life back then. Technology was not an issue, since most of us were smug and happy with our little transistor AM/FM radios. How my father would be thrilled had he guessed how far and how fast we have come. I only hope in my heart that the reels of film he so painstakingly staged and maintained will not be lost to us all. Old and weathered, they sit silently in my spare room, teasing us to bring them back to life. They wait in silence, our keys to the past, the only proof we have left of days gone by…..

The family budget is a very important thing and when the time comes for it to be deviated from, it can be crippling for a family. There are times, though, when the money that is coming in just isn’t enough to satisfy the emergency needs of the family. It’s times like this when situations have to be dealt with or the consequences can be disastrous. Failure to pay a crucial bill could cause a house to default, a credit card to go to collections, and a simple cycle of falling behind that becomes impossible to get out of. Once that hole is opened it only gets bigger.

That’s why when there is a situation where the expenses outweigh the income, it’s smart to do a payday loan. Trying a site like PayDayOne.com could be a great way to bridge the gap between the money you have and the money you need.

Unlike traditional banks a payday loan is designed to get you money quickly. There isn’t several days to wait in order to find out if the application has been approved. The payday loan is designed to be taken out the same day it’s needed.

Apartment rents are constantly increasing, and owning a home can be a stressful and time-consuming endeavor. As a result, more and more Americans are turning to an easier and more adventurous lifestyle: full-time RV living. RV living isn’t reserved for a specific subset of people; Americans from all social classes are opting to live year round in an RV, and families and single people alike are enjoying the alternate lifestyle. Before making the leap to full-time RV living, be sure to take a number of considerations into account.

Living with a Partner in an RV When deciding if you’d like to live in an RV, you must make sure that both partners are committed to the lifestyle. Living in an RV means you’ll be residing in extremely tight quarters. Couples must be prepared to sacrifice personal space and freedom. If you don’t believe you’re strong enough as a couple, you shouldn’t make the leap to RV living.

Raising Children in an RV Raising children in an RV can be incredibly difficult. In addition to living in tight quarters, you must take the children’s schooling situation into consideration. Ask yourself if you’re prepared to home school the children if you plan to be roaming the country throughout the year while in the RV.

Making Repairs in an RV You’ll also need to be prepared to keep the RV in good condition, which may mean doing any repairs yourself. You’ll need to be able to change a tire, repair broken plumbing, replace fluids or fix leaky roofs on your own.

An arranged marriage is one in which a third party member selects a spouse for another individual, thus eliminating the courtship stage. Arranged marriage is a tradition widely practiced in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, and it is typically a tradition that has been passed down through the generations. The practice is most prevalent in cultures in which casual dating is uncommon or discouraged. In such cultures, arranged marriages are considered the norm by young people.

In cultures where arranged marriages are prevalent, it is typically believed that traditional courtships are too driven by emotions and couples cannot make logical choices. The practice seems to be successful in some ways; statistics indicate that, in the United States, the divorce rate among couples that had arranged marriages is much lower than the national average divorce rate. Arranged marriages, on the other hand, place a greater emphasis on family and intergenerational relationships than the actual marital relationship.

Matches are typically selected by the young people’s families, but matchmaking agents, priests or religious leaders or another trusted third party may play a role in the choice. Parents who opt to select matches for their children typically have been matched by their own parents. In some cultures, parents feel pressure to play matchmaker, and if their children opt to find their own matches, it is considered a failure on the part of the parents.

Several factors are taken into consideration when deciding on a match. Such factors include caste, reputation, religion, vocation, language and age.

So you have met the love of your life, have you? You have someone great, and you want to keep her around for the rest of your natural life. So unless you want to be a bachelor forever, you might as well marry her and make her the happiest woman in the world. But of course, there are a lot of little details involved with an operation of this kind. It requires sensitivity. You do not just take the ring out of your pocket, plunk it down on a table while you sit in the Mickey D’s and say, “you gonna marry me, or what?” That would be an easy way to get no for an answer. But that isn’t your goal, is it?

First off, you need to select the type of ring you want to get for your lady. Of course, there are tons of options. You should definitely peruse sites like engagement.jrdunn.com to get a good idea of what you might want. Choosing a ring is not a decision you should take lightly. After all, assuming she says yes (and she probably will), she is going to be wearing this little piece of jewelry for the rest of her life.

And once you have that decision taken care of, you are not yet off the hook. You do realize that at some point in the proposal process, you are actually going to have to propose, right? Keep in mind that in life, the context is everything. You need to select a place and time when she is going to be relaxed and will able to say “yes” and mean it. Nothing is worse than a recanted yes. A lot of men choose a spot that has sentimental value, such as where they first met their wife to be or the place where they had their first date. The context really is everything.

Indian weddings are days-long affairs rife with rituals, traditions and celebrations. They are typically large affairs, and as many as 10,000 guests may attend. Unlike traditional American weddings, the emphasis is not on the bride and groom, but rather, on the couple’s families, who are being brought together socially with the marriage. While traditions vary based on the religion and region, there are many fundamental traditions that occur at most Indian weddings.

Before the actual wedding can occur, to preceding ceremonies must take place. The first is the engagement ceremony, and the second is the Mehendi ceremony. Both involve dancing, music and merriment.

After the conclusion of these events, the main ceremony can occur. The ceremony starts with an event called the Baraat, which involves a procession of the groom’s family members and friends. When the procession arrives at the wedding venue, they are greeted by the bride’s family. The bride’s mother then performs a ritual called the Aarti, after which the groom can enter the venue. The couple then take part in the Jaimala ceremony, during which they exchange garlands.

After this exchange, the most important portion of the wedding occurs, during which the bride and groom say vows and chant hymns with the wedding officiator. Then the couple’s clothing is tied together, and they walk seven times around a ceremonial fire. Each turn around the fire has a particular meaning; in the early rounds the bride leads the walk, signifying that the bride will lead the way in the beginning. The groom then leads the way during the final rounds.

Finally, after the formal ceremony, a lavish celebration occurs with elaborate foods and much dancing and music.

The car is one of the best inventions that provided opportunities for the average American. From the beginning, the car has been a superior method of getting around quickly, allowing both people and goods to cover large distances in a far shorter time than they could if they went through another avenue. Overall, the car has allowed all sorts of different jobs to be created and flourish, as well as facilitating commerce from every side. While the car may have started out as little more than a toy for the rich and leisure loving, its continued growth in use and the creation of the highway system has allowed it to become a mainstay of the American way of life, anda vital part of most people’s day.

In the early days of the car, it was just something fun to play with if you could afford one. Most roads were not even paved for a long time. But when Henry Ford began to produce automobiles through the use of the assembly line, Americans who previously had no hope of having a good job could suddenly get one. And Americans who previously could not get very far on foot suddenly had the option of doing a new thing called commuting. As America took a lesson from Nazi Germany and created the highway system, traveling from one city to another became less an arduous journey, and more a weekend pleasure trip, or even a normal commute to work.

Of course, insurance is an important part of having a car. And the type of insurance you have is going to be different based on where you live and where you drive. After all, Wisconsin insurance is going to inevitably be different from New York insurance. And no matter where you drive, you want to get the best deal you possibly can. If you need New York insurance quotes or from other states, you have lots of options.

Over the course of everyone’s life there are several relationships that will be unhealthy and will be terminated. However, there are times when we are unable to see that the relationships that we are in are unhealthy or bad for us. Unhealthy relationships come in all shapes and sizes have have a variety of issues. Unhealthy relationships are not just about cruelty or physical abuse, although those types are unhealthy.

There are relationships that are very onesided that can be extreme unhealthy. Usually, a one sided relationship happens between friends, but it can happen between couples as well. A one sided relationship is one where you do everything for another person. You are there for them when they need you, you are there when they do not. If they have an event or a party you are always there. You have been there for them for major events and small trivial things. Yet, when you need them for anything, they always have an excuse for why they cannot make it. If you are upset and need to talk, you would not think about calling them because you know they will probably blow you off. If this the relationship that you are having with anyone in your life, then you need to consider if you really want to continue the relationship.

Another type of relationship that is unhealthy is if someone in your life does not want you to better yourself. In some cases they can try to talk you into buying hideous clothes so that you will not look attractive, or they might try to dissuade you from doing something to better your life like getting an education. Many times, these people fear that you will end up becoming better than them. They see that you are trying to better your life they should and rather than encourage they try to make you feel like you should not. If this is the case, they might be afraid of losing you can you work with them to get through the issue, if you think that they wont change, rethink the friendship.

Sometimes life costs more than you make. There are plenty of people out there who find themselves in situations where the bill is exceeding the money they have. With health issues, car issues, natural disasters and everything else under the sun that can throw a life off track, the bills can be heavy and unexpected.

Of course there are two types of people in these situations: the ones who can get a standard loan to bail them out, and those who cannot due to their credit issues. These days with the banks being as cautious as they are it’s taking near flawless credit to get a standard bank loan. Those who had marginal credit or even “good” credit are finding themselves turned away from these banks. When the need for cash is there many Americans feel turned away by the banks.

The good news is that there are ways to get the money that you need, even when the credit isn’t there for you. These days there are companies that are interested in giving small, short-term loans to the working class. These companies, like GreatPlainsLending, are interesting in the working class because they know that a steady paycheck it more important than a credit score.

If you have no job then even flawless credit means nothing because you won’t have the means to pay the loan back. These smaller loan houses not only are willing to give a loan to you if you have lower than good credit, but they are also willing to be agreeable to you as far as the terms of your loan and the interest rate at which you can pay the loan back. It’s a convenient way to deal with an emergency.

Sometimes a loan is necessary to take care of an unexpected problem. These small loan houses are the best friend you can have in a pinch.

You might have noticed that your pants to do not fit as loose as they used to, or that your size keeps creeping up when shopping for clothes. Usually, people do not notice that they have put on a little extra weight until they are standing on a scale wondering how they got to be that big number. Or, for many, being over weight or struggling with their weight has been a way of life for so long that they are constantly fighting the scales. Either, way starting a healthy lifestyle is something that every person should do.

Deciding to eat better is a lot easier than actually doing something about it. Just like every other goal in your life you will have days where you do better than others. The key to eating healthy is to plan out your meals. The thing to remember with eating healthy is that you have to eat foods that you enjoy. If you don’t like salads, do not plan to eat a salad everyday thinking you will stay on your diet. Instead, make healthier decisions about the food that you already eat. If you eat a sandwich everyday order one with whole wheat bread and lean meat. Be realistic about the food that you are buying. If you know that you do not cook or live a very active busy lifestyle, do not buy all raw ingredients. There are several options out there for healthy frozen meals or pre-made meals.

Like any habit, people say that going to the gym becomes routine when you have gone for three weeks. The most important thing to remember is that working out should be fun. Many gyms have a variety of classes that you could attend that will get you moving. They also have a large selection of cardio machines and weights. The most important thing to remember is that you enjoy your time there. If you get to the gym planning to run four times a week and you hate running, you are more likely to not go at all.

Apartment living is a great way to start out in a new community, without the commitment of a mortgage. There are apartments with every conceivable amenity in Las Vegas, and apartments to meet every budget. Whether you want something in the middle of the action near the strip, or something more secluded, there is an apartment for you.

Once you move here, do not forget to take time to get to know your new city by exploring as many different Las Vegas attractions as you can. You will especially want to talk to people who have lived here for a while to find the fun and interesting things that are off the beaten path. After all, you will be considered a Las Vegas local by all your friends and family. When they come to stay with you (and they will) you’ll want to be able to show them around town and introduce them to the “real” Las Vegas.

There is a time in everyone’s life when we move away from our parent’s home and begin to live on our own. For many of us, that comes with changing the traditions that we respected because we lived in our parent’s home. For others, when we marry, we are forced to combine two traditions into a happy medium that works for us. However, there are still family members that may not want their traditions changed or will fight to keep traditions the same. In that case, there are several things that you can do to make sure that you are not upsetting anyone.

Holiday traditions are something that are changed drastically between each generation. For many couples, it is a compromise between the two families. However, there are some cases where traditions are better left alone and that if the tradition is based in a religious belief. For example, if you are visiting in-laws who are religious and they say grace before eating, it would be very impolite to not join in the blessing. Whether you believe in the blessing or not, it is a tradtion that means something to them and should be observed because you are in their home.

If there is a tradition that is not based in religion that you would like to to change, you might have better luck. People enjoy traditions because they remind them of the past, and even if they seem silly to you, they obviously mean something to another person, so be careful how you approuch the subject. Make sure that you bring up the subject well before the tradition is supposed to take place. If you wait until the tradition is supposed to start and then try to make a change, people might feel offended and you will come off looking rude. Explain why you want to change the tradition and see if they are open to the change. If they are, have them participate in the change with you. Make sure that the family is still involved in the new tradition.

If you’re a diabetes patient, you know just how important it is to stay on top of this dangerous health condition. Although Type I diabetes can only be managed, many Type II conditions can be put into remissionthrough lifestyle changes. Regardless of the kind of diabetes you have, living healthier will always improve your health and your lifespan.

A Healthy Diet

By eating a healthy diet with very low levels of sugar and complex carbohydrates, many diabetics can experience more stable blood sugar and insulin levels. In fact, a poor diet can be the trigger for many type II patients. By sticking with fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, you’ll not only feel better, but you’ll look better, too! Just imagine how great those Apple Bottom jeans will look when you manage your diet and weight better. No matter how much better you feel, don’t stop taking any medications without checking with your doctor first. In most cases, you’ll always need to monitor your blood sugar levels.

Gentle Exercise

A healthy exercise program is good for everyone, but it’s especially good for diabetic patients. Because diabetes can result in reduced circulation, it’s important to protect your cardiovascular health. In addition to this benefit, exercise can lower your weight and balance your blood sugar levels to reduce your dependence on insulin injections. Always ask your physician before starting to exercise to make sure you’re healthy enough. Usually, your doctor will recommend some form of aerobic exercise to improve your cardiovascular system. This can be as gentle as a leisurely walk or as strenuous as a rigorous jogging program.

By taking steps to improve your health, you can take control of your diabetes and minimize the chance of complications. Of course, these same improvements can improve everyone’s quality of life. What are you doing to improve your health?

The practice of eating together as a family was as rigidly followed as going to church on Sundays in my family. To this day, I still eat at the same time that I did when I lived at home. The habit has been drilled into me for so long, I cannot imagine having a family and not eating with them. However, my friends tell me that the difficulty of eating together as a family is not only difficult it is impossible.

The only thing that I can say to them is that they have to make it work. The time that I spend with my parents at the dinner table is still imprinted in my mind. I learned about what was going on the world, I got the chance to tell my parents about my day, and I got to spend a little bit of everyday with my entire family. I know that getting everyone together is difficult but you need to do it regardless.

Eating dinner together as a family is not only important, studies have shown that parents that eat dinner with their children have children who do better in school. Eating with their family gives children the chance to speak with their family about what they are feeling, how they are doing in school, and any areas that they are struggling with. Unlike other times, when you could be distracted and not really hear what your child has to say, sitting at the table will allow you really listen and speak with your child.

The best way to eat dinner together every night is to look at a time that works for everyone. See when you or your husband gets off work, and determine how long a meal takes to cook. Decide on a time that accommodates everything you are doing in you lives. Get your family involved in cooking the meal.

If you want to do something truly different, why not have a themed party? There are all kinds of occasions where you can do that, like birthdays, anniversaries, and dinner parties. The options for the theme are nearly endless, too. Things like Victorian dinner parties, toga parties, and cowboys and Indians are popular, but you can also base your party on a time period, another country, or even a TV show or book. No matter what kind of theme you want to use, there will be options for costumes, food, and decorations – and there will be people who will be thrilled about coming to the party and experiencing something different.

It’s best to make food that fits the theme, of course, but you also want things that are easy to eat and that people won’t be allergic to. Make sure that none of your guests have specific allergies, like peanuts or shellfish. Also, find out if any of them are vegetarian or vegan, or if they have to eat a gluten free diet. Knowing things like that well in advance can make the party go a lot more smoothly. It can also save you time and money, and keep someone from getting sick at your party, which is naturally something that you’ll want to avoid.

As for the costumes, you can find what you’re looking for at costumeexpress.com. That way you won’t have to worry about what to wear, and you can look your best at your party. If any friends aren’t sure what to wear or where to buy what they need, you’ll have a great site to send them to. That will take one of the biggest worries from your mind, and then you can focus on the decorations and the food, so that you’ll be ready to relax and have fun on the day of the party.

Not until after my grandparents had passed away did I truly understand the strength of character they possessed and their will to survive. For many of us, we see our grandparents as so far away from the generation that they could not possibly understand the struggles that we are going through in today’s world. However, the generations that came before us not only went through the same things that we are going through, but they did it in a harder time.

For many of us, our grandparents were immigrants that came to this country with nothing but the clothes on their back knowing that they would never see their family again. Not only did they come to this country alone and without speaking a word of English, but they learned to thrive and build a life for themselves.

Older generations may not be able to use a computer, definitely not a cell phone, and they may not understand computer and video games at all, but they have things to teach us- things that are invaluable.

If nothing else, our grandparents can teach us the importance of hard work and a good work ethic. Many of them started to work at any job that would take them. They worked long hours for barely any money, but they worked regardless. In today’s society, the thought of doing menial work is degrading, however, in these tough economic times we no longer have the choice. Our grandparents can teach us that supporting you family is the most important thing you have to do, no matter how you get it done.

They could also tell us how to make relationships last. These people have stayed together most of their lives. They have the secret to a happy marriage, which we badly need because no one today stays married more than a few years.

Some people hold off on applying to college because of the high costs of tuition and books, or because they don’t want to get into debt by taking out student loans. However, a college degree is crucial for those who want a competitive advantage in the job market.

Luckily, there are many options for those who want to obtain an affordable college degree. Some of the most inexpensive ways to obtain a degree include:

Scholarships. Most schools and states have scholarship funds set aside for students who excel in sports or academics. Additionally, many needs-based scholarships are also available. Private organizations and certain programs also offer scholarships to attract students. For example, some schools offer scholarship funds for women who enter traditionally male-dominated fields such as engineering or technology.

Grants. Federal grants are awarded on an as-needed basis to students whose families meet certain income qualifications. Unlike loans, grants do not need to be repaid.

Tax credits. The Obama administration recently approved funding for tax credits of up to $2,500 for college students, which is awarded in the form of a refund and can be very helpful in paying for tuition.

Subsidized loans. In addition to grants, the federal government provides subsidized loans for students based on financial need. Subsidized loans do not charge interest before you begin repaying the loan.

Online degrees. Online schooling is becoming a popular option for those who want to pursue an education inexpensively. Because students take classes on their own schedule, they are able to work full-time or take classes as they can afford them. Online education programs are becoming more and more popular.

Attending college is more attainable than many people realize. With so many resources available to help students pay for school, anyone can get a degree inexpensively.

Many married couples are deciding not to have children. It is not only about the fact that they do not want to bring children into the world. It is not only about the harsh and uncertain world that we live. Nor is it entirely about families having to have two incomes. It is a combination of all three. Many couples are criticized and speculated for not wanting to have children. However, they are making the lifestyle choice that is best for them.

When a couple makes the decision not to have children they are not only going against nature but they are going against the traditional family structure. Many people look at the act of not bring children into the world as selfish because so they assume that the adults would rather have their lives to themselves. However, that is rarely the case. In most situations where a couple decides not have children they are making the choice because they do not think that they life they lead would be a good environment for a child to be in. Perhaps the parents work all the time, perhaps they travel a lot. Perhaps they are very focused on their careers. No matter what the case, they are making the decision to protect a child that would not get the attention or the time that they needed.

Many adults who are of child bearing age grew up in a home where one parent was at home. The thought of having their own child in daycare is not something that they want to do. Therefore, they make the decision not to have children and have children. Or, parents grew up in a home where their parents were not always present, and they know that they could only provide that kind of environment for their children so they make the decision to not have children.

It is unavoidable that your child will be using a computer and be connected to the Internet. These skills are essential in modern society, and when they grow up, your children will be much better equipped to enter the job market if they have solid computer skills. Like with everything else, children don’t know everything there is to know to be safe, and with viruses, Trojans, and other potentially damaging threats to computers numbering in the millions, a program like PC Tools Free Antivirus will help protect your computer. Your child can then use it without posing a security risk to the whole family.

Risks from viruses include data loss, spam, and identity theft. Children and teenagers are more at risk from these because they don’t quite realize what sites are more prone to infecting computers. Many x-rated and r-rated sites harbor various malicious programs that unknowingly get downloaded. One way to protect your child is to set parental controls on the computer, but PC Tools Free Antivirus will constantly be on guard and monitor malware infections and each website visited. It also keeps updated on emerging threats that arise every day.

Other options include signing up with sites which offer tools that promote online safety, and Internet porn filters are an inexpensive option as well. Childproofing a computer requires careful attention to virus protection. While it can be obvious to you which sites to avoid, your child may be unaware of this threat or just be curious. Besides, it is not always apparent whether any particular site might be infected. A virus protection program is an essential asset, especially on a computer where your child might be clicking away at the mouse even while you are sleeping. To protect your computer, it is better to be on the safe side.

Becoming a vegan and living the lifestyle has so many other benefits than just not eating animals, although for many the not eating animals thing is a large part of being a vegan. Becoming a vegan is a lifestyle change that is not only difficult but it will impact the rest of your life.

Many people become vegans because they think that eating animal products is cruel. Many people do not want to think about where their beef came from but the fact is that animal cruelty exists. Farmers need to make as much meat in a small a space with as few animals as possible. This leads to horrible living conditions, steroids and mistreatment of animals. For vegans, that kind of treatment is unacceptable and they refuse to be a part of it by eating animal products.

For others, becoming a vegan is a healthy lifestyle choice that they have made for themselves. Vegans eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and whole grains, much more than the average person does. Vegans do not consume any cholesterol, which is only found in animal products. The vegan lifestyle is crammed full of nutritious fruits and vegetables that are packed with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Vegans also chose their lifestyle because it is economically friendly. It take less land and less water to water a field of corn than it does to feed and water animal products. One of the problems with raising cattle on land is that the cattle destroys the land so that it will take a few years for the land to recover. While you might have to rotate crops, vegetables are a more economically friendly option.
