Over the course of everyone’s life there are several relationships that will be unhealthy and will be terminated. However, there are times when we are unable to see that the relationships that we are in are unhealthy or bad for us. Unhealthy relationships come in all shapes and sizes have have a variety of issues. Unhealthy relationships are not just about cruelty or physical abuse, although those types are unhealthy.
There are relationships that are very onesided that can be extreme unhealthy. Usually, a one sided relationship happens between friends, but it can happen between couples as well. A one sided relationship is one where you do everything for another person. You are there for them when they need you, you are there when they do not. If they have an event or a party you are always there. You have been there for them for major events and small trivial things. Yet, when you need them for anything, they always have an excuse for why they cannot make it. If you are upset and need to talk, you would not think about calling them because you know they will probably blow you off. If this the relationship that you are having with anyone in your life, then you need to consider if you really want to continue the relationship.
Another type of relationship that is unhealthy is if someone in your life does not want you to better yourself. In some cases they can try to talk you into buying hideous clothes so that you will not look attractive, or they might try to dissuade you from doing something to better your life like getting an education. Many times, these people fear that you will end up becoming better than them. They see that you are trying to better your life they should and rather than encourage they try to make you feel like you should not. If this is the case, they might be afraid of losing you can you work with them to get through the issue, if you think that they wont change, rethink the friendship.
